Day 2: Blogging Create Task

Part of today's learning was to record ourselves discussing the teaching design behind the blog post from a Manaiakalani blog, and also the way that the comments support or contribute to the learning. This was all new learning for me! I had the issue of not having the record function enabled on Google Meet (something for me to address back at school) but Talei and I were able to present and record both our sessions from her Meet.
This was really useful today - I can see that the suggestion of being able to record parts of our whole school assembly to share with whanau on our class blog to show the awards being handed out, will be a lovely way to share successes with them.

I have embedded videos into blogs before, but the process today was much more streamlined and very easy to follow.  I have included screenshots of the process so that I can come back to it easily and share this with others in my team.

This task has also made me think about the kinds of things we are putting on our Learning Space blog. Will the readers be able to tell what the learning intent has been from what we have shared? Are our comments helping to enhance the learning on the other posts from across our school? This is particularly on the individual blogs of older children.

Lots for me to reflect on and discuss with my team, a really positive create task which I enjoyed - just not listening to my voice though - funny how we all think we sound different when we listen back to ourselves!

  1. Kia ora Rachael,

It was great watching the video of the Meet that you held. I hope that you have been successful in addressing the issues surrounding Meet within your school. You can ask the person that is the Google Admin for your school if this is something that they could address for you.

    Kind regards,

    Latham

    1. Thanks Latham - I have now been made an admin which should solve any permissions issues in the future. I enjoyed making the video - much easier when you cant see yourself on the screen that's for sure!
